It all started when I was seventeen, when it was the peak of extravagant night-outs and parties where my friends and I would plan out our look days before the event and spend hours in front of the mirror, dolling up our faces. I used to only watch youtube tutorial videos, but I figured I needed to learn more so I decided to take a 1-day makeup class with Professionals Jeng Sy-Flores and Carlan Teng. I have been practising makeup ever since, and I’ve been so into it that some of my friends started asking me to do their makeup for their own parties and events. Ofcourse I had to say yes, I enjoyed it way too much for me to refuse a good offer: they get made up and I get to practice my skills. Nevertheless, I’m planning to enrol in a Professional Program in Makeup Artistry in the coming summer break to be able to learn more and get to know the variety of styles and techniques professional makeup artists practice. The thought gets me so excited, even more when I look at the MAKE UP FOR EVER brochure I stuck in my study table’s cork board. But in the meantime, while I am still not a certified professional, I will continue on doing freelance work and update this blog with whatever gig that comes up. I will make sure to post photos/videos of my work, of new discoveries and techniques, reviews on certain products, and perhaps a makeup tutorial or two.
